Learn about music fundamentals online, taught by Vanessa - This class is excellent for all band students part of the Azure Music Ensemble program AND non registered students, making it a great supplement to all music education. Recommended for ages 8+
What you will get:
- Live call Q&A, not mandatory to attend - Wednesdays 9:30-10:00am, February 19 - March 26, 2025. The Q&A sessions will not be recorded.
- 8 videos uploaded over 6 weeks to teach material with printable worksheets beginning Feb 15/25.
- All materials, worksheets, videos, Q&A lives etc will be presented and stored through the BAND APP. Access is granted starting February 10/25 with an email link.
- Presented through the Band App. - recording access and chat function will be available from February 15 - April 15/25. After April 15/25 the course closes and access is revoked.
What is the time commitment?
- Students will get out of it what they put into this course! The more engaged you are in the material the more you will learn.
- It is estimated that students will spend approximately one hour per week in total (videos and worksheets)
- The Q&A sessions are not mandatory but a great resource for those wanting further explanation of the weeks topic.
- What if I have a question but miss a Q&A session? No problem! Vanessa is happy to respond to questions through the band app page. You can leave your questions in the comments section of the video/topic it pertains to.

- Intro to Minor Scales
- Intro to Chords (Triads)
BONUS VIDEOS will be posted to highlight select instrument families (woodwinds, brass, piano, strings, percussion)
